The Clothing I Own!

I've gone through a lot of different styles over the years, which means that I've gone through a lot of different clothes over the years too. While a small amount of older stuff has survived, I have also gotten many new clothes from various places. My recent favourite place to look for clothes is the Only on Commercial, which is a vintage thrift store. I've gotten so many good things from there! Anyways, I think about my clothes and my general style pretty often, and I decided to make a visualization that shows off how I think about my clothes.

An outfit I wore to a show including all black clothes with my favourite necklace which I got from Mexico City.

Wore this to manually transcribe some data from the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at UBC. The sweater was knitted for me while I was on exchange over 10 years ago!

An outfit for a date at a retro arcade. Love this Shadow the Hedgehog shirt I got for my birthday from a friend. Also wearing my favourite hat.

I've styled this visualization like a dresser with many drawers. How high or low each drawer is shows how often I wear the item, and where it is horizontally shows what uses I associate it with. You can figure out the uses thing by lining up the draw with the necklace hanging above it, which has beads for the different uses. So for example, any clothing item I put in the top-most left-most drawer is one that I use all the time and that I use for general wear, sports, and being comfy. Each item within a drawer shows its general type of clothing (big top, small top, big bottoms, small bottoms, sweater, jacket, hat) and its primary colour.

I think it's interesting and makes sense how the items that are useful for multiple purposes seem to be used more often. I also like that most of my clothes seem to be for general use, and I don't have a lot of clothes that are super purpose-bought, aside from sports clothes (the comfy ones are typically bought for general use then get "retired"). I definitely need some more nice clothes for going out and fancy occasions, but I knew that in my heart already!
